Week 3 Activity 3

For this activity I interviewed my grandpa about his dad.  My grandfather told me all about how he was a short, tough man. He would stand up for any of his friends in a fight and he would even stand up for people he didn’t know.  He said that he cared a lot about America and that’s why he enlisted in the Untied States Army.  He served in WWI and also served 20 years after the war.  He also cared a lot about his family and even though he wasn’t around much because of the army, he always wrote letters and sent fun toys to my grandpa and his brother.  Overall my grandpa said that his father was a very loving and caring man.

Week 3 Activity 4

For this activity we were suppose to add a new widget to our blog. I chose the widget Google Search. I chose this because I feel like if someone reading one of my posts doesn’t understand a word or something I said, then I want them to have a quick way to look it up the meaning. This way they can look it up quickly and then continue reading my blog.

Week 3 Activity 5

So far using Edublogs and images has been a fun experience.  Images truly are worth 1,000 words and they help the reader understand the concept better.  I have also learned that in order to post a picture of an adult, you need their permission first.  I now know how to use the tools to post fun and creative pictures that relate to my topic.

Week 4 Activity 1

In the spirit of Halloween I added a jack-o-lantern to the header of my blog. I also added a calendar widget. I added a jack-o-lantern because I think that pumpkins and jack-o-lanterns are the main face of Halloween. I added a calendar so people can count or look at the days until the next Halloween arrives!

Week 4 Activity 2

A poem about Halloween:

It’s Hallows Eve.

You know it’s near.

You can feel the darkness and the fear.

Beware of the monsters, that come up to the door.

You know that they will screech and roar!

The shadows are out.

To laugh and play.

With little children until the day.

The ghouls are out but cannot be seen.

This is, Halloween.

Week 4 Activity 3

On the day before Halloween all of my friends get together and make a plan about all of the houses we are going to trick-or-treat at.  We usually go to the richest neighborhoods so we can get to the kingsize candy.  There is no time to waste because we don’t want the little kids to beat us to the good houses. We trick-or-treat for about an hour and then go home to divide up the candy. After we finish trading and sorting our candy we go to one of our friends houses and have a sleepover.  We might watch a movie or just hangout and eat our candy for most of the night until we fall asleep.
